He was predeceased by: his father John Edwin Avey. He is survived by: his mother Doris Loretta Avey (Bennefield); his son Michael Avey (Ashley); his siblings, John Avey (Beverly), Donald Avey, Jim Avey, Ben Avey and Sherry Gates; and his grandchildren, Vincent Avey, Lillian Avey, Elizabeth Roberts, Ayden Travis and John Travis.
