With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Alva Hodson of Cleveland, Oklahoma, who passed away on June 9, 2025 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Alva had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Alva may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alva Marlow and Cynthia Josephine Hodson (Barber); his wife Alice Marie Prill; and his sons, Billy and Bobby.
He is survived by: Cathy.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 12th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Chapman-Black Funeral Home (108 W Delaware St, Cleveland, OK 74020). A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the First Assembly of God (515 W Wichita Ave, Cleveland, OK 74020). A graveside service will be held on Friday, June 13th 2025 from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Sinnett Cemetery.
