He was predeceased by : his parents, Clifford Filhart and Wilma Filhart (Amstutz); and his brothers, Lynn Filhart, Edward Filhart and Damon Jack Filhart.

He is survived by : his wife Leslie Amstutz of Cleveland, Oklahoma; and his siblings, Clifford Filhart of Ortonville, Leon Filhart of Hale, James Filhart of Georgia, Robert Filhart of Hale, Michigan and Ann Groenveld of Florida. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
