It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Nancy Katherine Cowan (Clinton, Oklahoma), who passed away on December 8, 2025, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, William David Kirby and Mary Katherine Kirby (Hall); her brother David; and her siblings-in-law, Rogna Kirby, Sheldon Carlson and Eugene Parker.
She is survived by: her spouse Aubrey Neal Cowan; her sisters, Peggy Parker of Duncan and Sue Carlson of Norman; her children, Greg Cowan of Garnett, KS, Brad Cowan (Kris) of Ellis, KS and Missy Heard (Corky) of Clinton, OK.; her grandchildren, Brandon Cowan (Kayla), Amber Reents (Colt), Jessica Perry, Jason Cowan (Amber), Lacie Wilson (Nic) and Harley Spilman (Brandon); and her close friend Kathi Davis. She is also survived by extended family and many friends.
The family has requested that memorials be made to the Bulldog Angels Fund for students in crisis at Southwestern Oklahoma State University (SWOSU), with checks payable to "SWOSU FOUNDATION," listing "Cowan Memorials" in the memorandum line.
