He was predeceased by : his parents, Emory Leston Mathis and Gladys Marcella Mathis (Williams); his brother Michael; and his grandparents, Eddie Leston, Mavie Mathis, L. D. and Edna Williams.

He is survived by : his daughters, Allison Ledford of San Antonio, TX and Elizabeth Mathis of Weatherford, OK; his siblings, Joanna Beers (Mike) of Custer City, OK, Myra Joy Frantz (Chuck) of Weatherford, OK, Stephen Mathis (Nancy) of Jefferson, MO and Stanley Mathis (Tammy); and his grandchildren, Liam Ledford of San Antonio, TX and Aspen Ledford of San Antonio, TX. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
