He was predeceased by: his parents, Otto Sawatzky and Marie Sawatzky; his son Greg Sawatzky; and his siblings, Delmar Sawatzky and Arlene Benton.
He is survived by: his wife Joyce Sawatzky of Clinton, OK.; his children, Alan Sawatzky (Cathy) and Sharon Van Allen (Craig); and his grandchildren, Tina, Allison, Trey and Josh.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, May 21st 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Thursday, May 22nd 2025 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Ray and Martha's Funeral Home (1502 N Market St, New Cordell, OK 73632). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Peace Lutheran Church (11206 N 2250 Rd, Bessie, OK 73622). A burial was held on Friday, May 23rd 2025 at the Peace Lutheran Cemetery (11206 N 2250 Rd, Bessie, OK 73622).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The Western Oklahoma Christian School of Clinton or The Peace Lutheran Church of Bessie.
