She was predeceased by: her parents, Arnest Oliver Gibbs and Iva Teele Gibbs; her grandparents, Robert Lee, Alice Gibbs, Sidney and Savannah Lillie Teele; her husband Donald Wayne Downs; her brother David Gibbs; and her brother-in-law Tom Burns.
She is survived by: her family Arlene; her children, Cherie Barnes (Warren) of Antlers, OK and Dan Downs (Sharlene) of Hartselle, AL.; her siblings, Oliver Gibbs of Decatur, AL and Allene Burns; her sisters-in-law, Linda Gibbs and Joan Gibbs; her grandchildren, Cameron, Aron Downs, Kristen Marth (Evan), Valarie Lemmond (Garrison), Marin Bormann (Caleb), Morgan Shaw (Tristen), Kurtis, Hannah and Parker Barnes; and her great grandchildren, Shiloh, Willow and Lainey.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, October 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Roselawn Cemetery (741 Memorial Dr SW, Decatur, AL 35601).
