He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Eugene and Maretta Phillips; and his siblings, Bobby Phillips, Linda Phillips and Barbara Hobbs.
He is survived by: his sister Jan Calloway; and his children, Stephen Freeman (Tammie), Daniel Freeman (Tasha) and Crystal Freeman. He is also survived by many grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and many longtime friends.
