He was predeceased by : his parents, Hubert Franklin and Ollie Robinson Franklin; and his siblings, Mary Neinhold, Avaleen Franklin, Sharon Franklin, Kenneth, Harvey, Glenn and Teddy Franklin.

He is survived by : his children, Sandra Simmons (Larry) of Hendrix, Oklahoma and Jeff Franklin (Nicole) of Denison, Texas; his grandchildren, Breanna Simmons, Alex Simmons (Katherine), Victoria Simmons, Luke Simmons, Braylon Franklin, Jayde Franklin and Carson Tomlinson; his sister Rosa Lee Sane (Jerry) of Tennessee; the mother of his children Barbara Gaither of Denison; his niece Cheryl Shelton of North Carolina; and his nephew Mark Franklin of Tennessee.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Fisher Funeral Home Chapel (604 W Main St, Denison, TX 75020). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, April 30th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
