He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Burr, Sr. and Lydia Stout; and his son Thomas E. Burr II. He is survived by: his wife Mary Terrill; his children, Jeanie Michelle and James William (Katie); his daughter-in-law Kelly Poplin Burr; his brother Eddie C. Burr (Ginger); his grandchildren, Korry Elizabeth, Ainsley Ryan Burr, Brady Thomas, Carter Kennedy Richie, Emma Rose and Ella Grace Burr; and his sister-in-law Jeanie Barnes (Skip). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Two causes close to his heart were the Collinsville Education Foundation and Foundations Church mission of the Kenya Church Plant.
