He was predeceased by: his parents, Dalton "Jug" Benton and Peggy Benton (Seay); his wife Jane; his daughter Rebecca; and his sister Sue Linton.
He is survived by: his son Bob Benton (Gina); his grandson Lathe Benton (Cobie Hufnagel); his siblings, Joe Benton (Linda) and Lana Heath (Charley); and his brother-in-law Avery Linton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
