He was predeceased by: his parents, Jay Potter, Sr. and Lurline Potter (Hester); his siblings, Oren Potter, Betty Denton, Margaret Woodward, Darlene Wilson, Raymond Potter, Kathy Peterson and Terry Potter; and his grandson Christopher "Isaiah" Potter.

He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Replogle-Potter (Wear); his children, Shelly Newman (Matthew) of Tulsa, Jason Clark Potter of Tulsa and Shay Surowiak (Potter) of Coweta, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Evan Parker Newman-Chock (Michaiah Newman-Chock), Genna Grace Newman, Jackie Rose Potter, Kate Elizabeth Potter and Alexis Faith Surowiak; and his great grandchild Zion RiverBear Potter. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and many dear friends.
