He was predeceased by: his parents, Elmer Porter and Ella Porter; and his sons, Thomas Porter and Steve Porter. He is survived by: his wife Euva Porter; and his sister Esther Garner. He is also survived by other extended family and relatives; and numerous friends.
Marvin Grew up attending the Church of Christ on the land that his grandparents donated for a church in Iuka, Illinois in Marion County.
