He was predeceased by: his parents, Odell G. Birch and Betty Lucille Birch (Chadwick); and his sister-in-law Linda Birch. He is survived by: his wife Lynda; his children, Nicki Nowlin (Wendall) of Davis and Jerry Charles (Shelia) of Davis; his brother Jerry Odell Birch of Davis; his stepdaughters, Brooke Barker (John) of Colleyville, TX and Lindsay Smith of Dallas; his grandchildren, Tara Clopton (Chad), Jarrin Birch (Emily), Scott Nowlin (Katie), Randi Nowlin, Clint Grinstead, B. J. Nowlin, S. J. Barker, Gia Barker, Jaxon Barker and Zaya Price; his great grandchildren, Lainey Clopton, Ruby Birch, Camden Nowlin, Miles Nowlin and Tryston Nowlin; and his sibling's children, Kevin Birch and Kelly Birch.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations be made to the First Free Will Baptist Church.
