She was predeceased by: her parents, Oliver Cottrell and Gertie Cottrell (Jeter); her children, Joe Wesley "Joey" Gibbs and Judith Joann "JJ" Gibbs-Swartz; and her brothers, Jimmy, Floyd and Jerry Cottrell.
She is survived by: her son Chester Gibbs, Jr. (Pam); her grandchildren, Elizbeth, Joy Lea Gibbs and Richard Vaughn; her children-in-law, Ronda Gibbs and Mark Swartz; her sister-in-law Hariette Cottrell; and her close friend Sherry Park. She is also survived by several niece and nephews.
