He was predeceased by : his father Frank John; his parents-in-law, Bernard and Davilene Burns; his sister Phyllis Roberts; and his niece Jamie Smith.

He is survived by : his wife Bennie; his children, Lisa Ruley (Jason) of Dripping Springs, TX, Darin Kapella (Ashley) of Bentonville, AR and Marcy Taylor (Ross) of Mansfield, TX; his grandchildren, Blake Taylor, Sloane, Morgan Ruley, Greer and Collin Kapella; his siblings, Jim Kapella (Shirlee) of Hot Springs, AR, Bill Kapella (Lindsey) of Oklahoma City, Tom Kapella (Karen) of Siloam Springs, AR and Mary Kapella of Edmond; his siblings-in-law, Gwen Weber (Joe) of Purcell, Larry Burns (Karen) of Nampa, ID, Barry Burns (Vickie) of Lindsay and Bob Burns (Chris) of Midwest City; his nieces and nephews, Jody Weber (Stephanie) of Norman, Matt Weber (Trisha) of Marlow, Stacy Goodin (Scott) of Davis, Jessica Ross (Chris) of Edmond and Catherine Tonseth (Drew) of Edmond; and his friend Rick Bachman (Judy) of Oklahoma City.
