He was predeceased by: his parents, Samuel Pearson and Bertha Pearson (McGregor); his wife Joyce Higgins; and his siblings, Owen of Sam, J. R., Bruce, Bobbie and Francile.

He is survived by: his children, Mark Pearson (Trinia) and Lisa Aldridge (Gary); his grandchildren, Shelby, Taylor (Cameron), Brandy (Daniel) and Ty; his great grandchildren, Sylys Jay Paul and Pearson Leigh; and his sister Arlene Joines. He is also survived by his friends and family.
