With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Ellen Irene Lakey of Delaware, Oklahoma, born in Nowata, Oklahoma, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on July 25, 2025 at the age of 76. She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Ryan and Ruby Ryan (Charbaneau); her siblings, Norma, Sadie, Dixie, Dot, Kenny and Jim; her children, Phillip and Jeanie; and her pet Buddy.
She is survived by: her husband John Lakey; her sons, Rocky Lakey (Cindy) and Shawn Lakey; her grandchildren, Ross Allison (Ashley), Nate Matthews and Alex Alberty; and her sister Helen. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, July 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Stumpff Funeral Home - Nowata (620 E Cherokee Ave, Nowata, OK 74048-2812). A graveside service was held on Thursday, July 31st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Nowata Cemetery.
