We announce the death of Mary Jean Palmer in Dewey, Oklahoma, who passed away on October 1, 2026, at the age of 79. Mary Jean will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mose Alberty and Leona Alberty; her husband Elgin David Palmer Sr.; her son Elgin David Palmer Jr.; and her brothers, Elliott, Cecil, Sherman, Phillip, Henry and Charles.
She is survived by: her children, Sharetta Palmer, Kim Palmer and Edward Alberty; her brother Billy Alberty; her grandchildren, Brett Palmer, DaShawra Cubit, Tia Barber and Isaiah Barber; her great grandchildren, Zaryeah, Jebidiah and Josiah; and her siblings-in-law, Robert Walton (Annette), Larry Cunningham (Gayla), Chris Grimmett, John Grimmett, Carol Lawson and Shirley Grimmett. She is also survived by her family; especially her children, Grandchildren and Great Grandsons.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 16th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Westside Baptist Church (326 N Downing Ave, Dewey, OK 74029).
