He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Benjamin and Nora Ann Hancock (Williams); his son David Hancock; his grandson Dillon Bond; and his siblings, Claude Hancock, Lucille Brines (Goldie), Geneva Taylor, Ruth Anderson and Lavinia Hancock.
He is survived by: his children, James Hancock (Dorothy) of Loco, Krista Harper (Shane) of Comanche, Susan McMahan (Joe) of Lawton, Carrie Wilkinson (Josh) of Duncan and Billy Joe Hancock Jr. (Kecia) of Meridian; his stepdaughter Jennifer Smiddy (Jeromy) of Duncan; his daughter-in-law Debbie Hancock; and his sister Betty Hendricks of Comanche. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren.
