She was predeceased by: her parents, William Robert and Alpha Bertha Mae Connell (Bateman); her husband Leroy Sears; her daughter Sandra Short; her grandson James; and her siblings, Nona Schoolcraft and Willie Carroll Connell.
She is survived by: her children, Marsha Short (Chris), Jimmy Short (Nina) and Tara Harper (Micah); her grandchildren, Daniel, Alainea, Sueanna, Stevie, Nicholas, Chian, Canyon, Juniper, Logan and Emma; and her sister Betty. She is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
