We announce the death of Jessie Fern Tinney of Duncan, Oklahoma, who passed away on August 26, 2026, at the age of 90. Jessie will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jesse Akers and Edna Akers; her brother Wayne; and her daughter-in-law Becky. She is survived by: her children, Gregory Tinney, Brenda Tinney-Ford, Sharon Hawkins (Frankie) and Rodney Tinney (Tammy); and her grandchildren, Melissa Thomas (Jason), Michelle Cavanaugh (Mark), Kurt Tinney (Amanda), Jessica Russell (Josh), Amber Molina (Isaac) and Jordan Stubblefield (Alex). She is also survived by 8 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, August 30th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Carter-Smart Funeral Home (1316 Oak Ave, Duncan, OK 73533). A funeral service was held on Monday, August 31st 2026 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
