She was predeceased by: her parents, G. J. Waitman and Opal Waitman; her husband Carlton Mitchell; her siblings, O. E. Jack Waitman, Gregory Jerry Waitman, Tony Eugene Waitman, Linda June Waitman and John Robert Waitman; and her niece Tamra K. Mikel.
She is survived by: her children, Carlton "Chip" Mitchell of Duncan, Karen Boyer of Duncan, Tony, Anita Mitchell of Comanche and Rocky Mitchell of Duncan; and her grandchildren, Amanda Branch, Jordan Boyer, Destry Mitchell, Stony Mitchell, Dustin Mitchell, Trinity Scott, Haley McCormack, Canyon Mitchell, Bree Mitchell, Brody Mitchell and Brookelyne Lock. She is also survived by 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Whitt Funeral Home (3716 N Hwy 81, Duncan, OK 73533). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Patterson Avenue Baptist Church (208 Patterson Ave, Comanche, OK 73529). A burial will be held on Wednesday, October 7th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the Fairlawn Cemetery (18253 Meridian Rd, Comanche, OK 73529).
