He was predeceased by: his father Marvin Cox; and his son Shawn Wayne Cox. He is survived by: his mother Dorthy Cox (Richardson) of Virginia; his wife Nelda Cox; his children, Joseph Keith Cox (Jennifer) of Chanhassen, Jessica Chen Thonack (Doug) of Chaska, Minnesota, David Randal Morgan (Lara) of Duncan and Kimberly Diane Hughes of Duncan, Oklahoma; and his sisters, Lynda Douthitt of Rush Springs, Debra Cox of Duncan and Tena Campbell (Jeff) of Forest, Virginia. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
