She was predeceased by: her parents, Thomas Howard and Vivian Fullwood McCasland; her husband Jack A. Maurer; and her sons-in-law, John C. Hugon and James P. Garis.
She is survived by: her daughters, Marilyn Maurer Hugon, Diane Garis Davenport (Bryan "Lynn" Davenport) and Barbara Maurer Braught (John R. "Rick" Braught); her grandchildren, Mary Garis (Scott Nenni), Justin Hugon (Rachael), Caroline Garis Brown (Blake), Jackson Braught (Madison), William Hugon (Michelle Dunn) and Grant Braught; her stepgrandchildren, Jeff Davenport (Dawn), Bryan Davenport (Jamee) and Baleigh Davenport Neville (Robert); her brother T. H. McCasland, Jr. (Phyllis); her nephews, T. H. McCasland, III (Monica) and Mark McCasland (Kandi); her cousin Dr. Harry Fullwood (Virginia); her stepchildren, Mike Michaelis (Dee) and Sue Michaelis; and her stepgrandchildren, Matthew, Amy and Laura.
In keeping with her practice of honoring others through memorial donations, the family suggests that donations be made in her memory, in lieu of flowers, to Chisholm Trail Heritage Center, Duncan Regional Hospital Health Foundation, Stephens County Historical Museum, the Simmons Center Foundation, or other favorite charity.
