It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Geraldean Layton of Durant, Oklahoma, who passed away on August 9, 2022, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Willard William and Alberta Evans (Chitwood); her husband Jack Layton; her son Jackie Layton; her daughter-in-law Angie Layton; and her siblings, Alonzo Joel Evans, Charles William Evans, Walter "Bud" Hill Evans, Susan "Sis" Evelyn Blair (Evans), Edward James Evans, Cathrine Louise Evans, Sarah "Boots" Elizabeth Brewer (Evans), Delores "Dink" Maxine Head (Evans), Arthur "Sonny" Willard Evans, Winfred Dale Evans, Joyce Columbine Layton (Evans) and Lois Caroline Evans.
She is survived by: her children, John Layton of Coleman, OK, Debbie Crites of Durant, OK and Russell Layton (Michelle) of San Antonio, TX; her grandchildren, Waylon Layton, Krystle Culbreath (James) of Caney, OK, Megan Fincher (Scott) of Caney, OK, Kacey Layton of Coleman, OK, Chelsie Bonham (Keith) of Durant, OK, Kyle Layton (Ariole) of Coleman, OK, Macie Eddings (Mason) of Russett, OK, Chase Crites (Bailey) of Coalgate, OK and Alexis Gaus of San Antonio, TX; her great grandchildren, Halli Culbreath, Carson Culbreath, Ava Layton, Bree Fincher, Austin Fincher, Alex Fincher, Blakely Preston-Crites, Scout Bonham, Bexley Crites, Treyden Layton, Austin Eddings and Palmer Bonham; and her daughter-in-law Diane Layton of Caney, OK. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.
