He was predeceased by: his parents, Pete Carter and Sybil Carter; and his son Shane Barrow. He is survived by: his wife Linda Carter; his children, Terry Carter (Sherral), Dean Carter, Jeff Carter and Shellie Abel (Dan); his grandchildren, Liz (Brad), Katie, Tim (Melissa), Paige, Blake (Myrissa), Coleson, Gunnar, Garrett and Travis; and his sister Judy Nix.
A memorial service was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Holmes-Coffey-Murray Funeral Home (121 N 5th Ave, Durant, OK 74701). A graveside service was held on Friday, December 12th 2025 at the Rose Hill Cemetery.
