He was predeceased by : his parents, George Rex and Hester Lee Shepherd (Darby); his siblings, A. G., Albert, Henry, Quanah, Betty and Jinnie; and his grandson J. P. Kennedy.

He is survived by : his wife Shirley Ann Shepherd (Presley) of Durant, Oklahoma; his daughters, Johnna Jenkins of Edmond and Cindy Kennedy of Calera, Oklahoma; and his grandsons, Heath Jenkins of Edmond, Brice Jenkins of Caddo and Eric Kennedy of Calera. He is also survived by other extended family and friends.
