He was predeceased by: his parents, Ida Maude Gaither and Thomas Nichols; his son Earl Steven Gaither Jr.; and his siblings, Norman Edward, Mike, Wayne Gaither, Comlee Hartford and Barbara Gaither.

He is survived by: his daughter Angel Gaither of Dallas, TX; and his sisters, Paula Jo Driggers of Bokchito, OK and Laneda Bowen of Durant, OK. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
