He was predeceased by: his parents, Paul Ward Cooper and Velva Ivy Cooper (Stout); his daughter Lee Ann Cooper; his parents-in-law, Lee and Katherine McClure; his brothers-in-law, Robert McCarley and Pat Gleason; and his sister Sue (Bill Hayes).
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Cooper of Durant; his children, Paula Carol Whatley of Prosper, TX and Cory Cooper (Kacey) of Sand Point, OK; his grandchildren, Steven Chad Whatley (Amba) of Australia, Bryan Paul Whatley (Jenny) of Prosper, TX, Camdon Cade Cooper, Kenedi Katherine Cooper and Haylie Kreitz of Oklahoma; his great grandchildren, Sebastian, Yossarian, Juniper Shalom Whatley of Australia, Avery and Rylan Whatley of Prosper, TX; his sister Sandra Pauline Gleason of Florida; his siblings-in-law, Deloris McCarley of Odessa and Charles McClure (Jeannie) of Houston; and his sibling's child Chris McCLure (Colleen) of Houston.
He also said that he needed to donate his body to science, because every part of his body had been worked on.
