He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Nickels and Cora Nickels; and his siblings, Delena, Betty and Ray.
He is survived by: his wife Teri Stancil; his children, Chad Nickels and Amber Easterling; his grandson Gibson Easterling; and his brother Boyd Nickels. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 27th 2025 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Dannel Funeral Home (302 S Walnut St, Sherman, TX 75090). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church (401 N Elm St, Sherman, TX 75090).
The family requests that donations be made to either Home Hospice, MS Society, or FUMC Sherman Building Fund in lieu of flowers.
