She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruby Mildred (James) and Floyd Rufus Koonce; her husband Calvin Merritt; and her sister Margaret Rose Pigg. She is survived by: her children, Debra Merritt of Durant, Oklahoma and Ron Merritt (Traci) of Calera, Oklahoma; her grandchildren, Harley Quinn Merritt of Calera, Shelby Huey of Silo, Oklahoma and Kyle Huey of Tahlequah, Oklahoma; her great grandchildren, Roselyn, Brooklyn and Chloe; and her nephew Dale Pigg (Laura). She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews as well as other extended family.
