He is survived by: his children, Harvey Alan Horton Jr., Kennedy Leverett (Morgan) and Michael Hickey (Holly); his grandchildren, Nash, Elliot Leverett, Maddi DeCastro and Gavyn Hickey; and his siblings, Mary Sullaway (Greg), John Horton (Jackie) and David Horton (Kelly). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.

“My deepest sympathy for the family. Alan will live on through his kids and grandkids. He had the best dad jokes and eighth-grade humor..Plus he would show up somewhere in overalls and quote Shakespeare, That was his charm . He also had an amazing command of the English language. He was happiest outdoors doing outdoor stuff. Al was a true Renaissance man, but the thing I think I will miss the most about him is his hugs, they were the best. Fly high with the Angels, Big Al, no more pain! Love you!”
