We bid farewell to Joann Rice in Edmond, Oklahoma, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 14, 2025 at the age of 94. Joann touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her husband Amos Rice Sr.; her parents, Ferdinand Pegee and Lula Pegee of Hope, Arkansas; her siblings, Bonnie Lee McFadden, AJ Pegee, Joetta Taylor, Clifford Pegee, Sarah Hill and Bill Pegee; and her children, Dominic Rice, Garry Rice Sr. and Mary Rice.

She is survived by: her children, Amos Rice Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia, Steve Rice of Marshall, Missouri, Sue Gaub of Edmond, Oklahoma and Alice Altizer of Concord, California; and her grandson Garry Rice. She is also survived by grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, one great-great grandson, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Palmer Funeral Home - West Chapel (2702 Lincoln Way W, South Bend, IN 46628). A funeral service was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Friday, September 26th 2025 at the Highland Cemetery (2257 Portage Ave, South Bend, IN 46616).
