He is survived by: his wife Jeanette King; his siblings, Tom King of Edmond, Oklahoma and Betty Bray of Tyler, Texas.; his sons, Kevin King (Rene) of Cayce, Greg King (Amy) of Edmond, Oklahoma and Chris King (Mellodie) of Paris, Texas.; and his grandchildren, Josh King (Kailey), Daniel King (Katja), Ben King (Kara), Jackson King, Brooklyn Lenfield (Jacob), Samantha King and Madelyn King. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.

Later in life, John and Jeanette enjoyed bowling together, a pastime they continued until the COVID pandemic.
