He was predeceased by : his parents, Jack Darnell and Leta Darnell (Stephenson); his siblings, Gary Darnell and Becky Darnell Tielke; and his father-in-law Donald Hathaway.

He is survived by : his wife Liz Hathaway; his son Brian Darnell; his mother-in-law Carol Hathaway; his sister-in-law Julie Hathaway; his brothers, David (Lanorma Darnell) and Darrell (Stacy Darnell); his nieces and nephews, Brandon Reed, Anthony Reed, Ashley, Austin Johnson, Colt Darnell, Crystal, Mandy Tielke and Gabe Tielke; and his close friends, Mike and Holly Ottinger.

Viewing was held on Monday, April 15th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, April 16th 2024 from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM at the Hart-Wyatt Funeral Home - Walters (202 E Colorado Ave, Walters, OK 73572). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, April 17th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Walters Cemetery.
