He was predeceased by: his parents, J. L. Johnson, and Dora "Cricket" Johnson, Sr.; his wife Karen Janeway; his children, Andrea Rieger (Randon) and Phillip Johnson (Yazmin); and his grandchildren, Emily, Cadon, Jaxon and Rylon Rieger.
He is survived by: his siblings, J. L. Johnson, Jr. (Linda) and Nancy Kymes (Charles). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and many, many friends.
