Clarence James Courtright Obituary

Clarence "Chuck" James Courtright passed away peacefully on the morning of November 6, 2025, in the home of his daughter, Marcell Hill in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, surrounded by family and friends who loved and cared for him: Chaia Zellermayer, Howard Courtright, Marcell Hill, Robert Hill, Christopher Courtright, Francesca Emanuel, Alex Johnson, Samantha Hill, Sophia Hill, and Indyana Courtright.

Born on March 15, 1958, in Binghamton, New York, to Clarence Joseph and Carol J. Courtright, Chuck was the eldest of seven children. His early life shaped a man of resilience, compassion, and humor. In 1978, he joined the United States Air Force, proudly serving as a Law Enforcement Specialist for more than five years. During that time, he met and married Teresa Rickman, his wife of twenty years and the mother of his three children: Amanda, Marcell, and Christopher.

Later in life, Chuck met his beloved wife, Chaia Zellermayer, while working together at Three Springs, a wilderness program helping youth overcome hardship. Together they built a loving home grounded in kindness, laughter, and a shared devotion to family. It was at this program where he also met his best friend, Alex Johnson.

Chuck's faith in Jesus Christ guided his life. As a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, he found peace in prayer and joy in serving others. He often went above and beyond to those in need and helped by giving of himself at every opportunity. Above all, he cherished his role as "Grampy" to his grandchildren: Lily and Lauryn Taylor, Samantha and Sophia Hill, and Krystalynn, Max, and Indyana Courtright.

Chuck is survived by his wife, children, grandchildren, and siblings Howard Courtright, Billy Courtright, Starr Regan, and Cindy Drew. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Carol Courtright, and brothers Joseph Courtright, Mark Courtright, and Ed Terrell.
