He was predeceased by: his grandson Nolan Aguero. He is survived by: his wife Christi Barnes; his children, Garrett, Nicole, Sarah and Jake; his parents, Linda Kay and William Barnes; and his siblings, Teresa Phelps and Kriss Barnes. He is also survived by dogs; and a host of extended family.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 30th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Whinery-Huddleston Funeral Service (6210 NW Cache Rd, Lawton, OK 73505). A graveside service was held on Wednesday, October 1st 2025 from 2:00 PM to 2:15 PM at the Fort Sill National Cemetery (2648 NE Jake Dunn Rd, Elgin, OK 73538).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Michael's memory to Wounded Veterans of Oklahoma.
