He was predeceased by: his parents, Wiley Philip Balis and Cleo Winslett Balis; and his siblings, Wanda Dickson, Garry Balis and Dale Balis.
He is survived by: his wife Kelly Hinkle-Balis; his children, Daniel Balis of Dallas, Texas and Shelly Sipley; his grandchildren, Joshua Balis, Malcolm Balis and Helena Sipley; and his sister Park of Iowa. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
The military honors was held on Wednesday, September 9th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Fort Sill National Cemetery (2648 NE Jake Dunn Rd, Elgin, OK 73538).
