With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Nellie M. Compton of Elk City, Oklahoma, born in Pampa, Texas, who passed away on April 20, 2022 at the age of 89. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Curtis E. McClure and Jessie M. Godden McClure; her sons, Curtis E. Compton and Billy R. Compton; and her grandson Jody R. Compton.
She is survived by: her children, Larry R. Compton of Fort Worth, Texas and Carol Ann Compton Jones (William L. Jones) of Fort Worth, Texas; her daughters-in-law, Cynthia A. Compton Allen of Elk City and Victoria Compton of Spring, Texas; and her grandchildren, Joshua C. Compton (Misty D. Compton) of Ardmore, Christa D. Neeley (Justin W. Neeley) of Elk City, Melinda A. Beezley Jennings, Mitchel E. Broomfield of Puyallup, Dustin L. Compton (Brianna A. Compton) of Elk City and Matthew H. Beezley of Fort Worth, Texas. She is also survived by 15 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
After completing Nursing School she was employed by the Elk City Hospital where she played a crucial role in the ICU ward during the Polio Pandemic.
