He is survived by: his wife Deborah Meyer; his children, Michelle Jamison and David Meyer Jr.; his grandson Corbin Shelton (Ivy); his great grandchildren, Courtlyn Jo Shelton and Payton Ray Gene Shelton; and his siblings, Teresa Sissney (Raymond), Mary Meyer and Jerry Meyer Sr.. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members and friends.

Memorials may be made in his honor to Hospice Circle of Love or the Waukomis Christian Church with Brown-Cummings serving as custodian of the funds.
