She was predeceased by: her parents, Paul George and Nora Marcell Matthews (Barnes); and her siblings, John "Dub" Matthews, Donald Ray McConaghie and Irma Carlene Gantz.
She is survived by: her children, Rusty Thomas (Liz) of Independence, MO and Paula Kay Thomas of Neodesha, KS. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren.
