He was predeceased by : his parents, Ed Tarpley and Florene Tarpley; his siblings, Wayne, Roy Tarpley, Joyce Cross and Doris Turner; and his parents-in-law, Robert and Gladys Broderick.

He is survived by : his wife Gladys; his daughters, Jennifer Williams (Robert Williams, Jr.) of Apache, Sarah Vesselee of Columbia, SC, Patricia Fulks of Saint Charles and Holli Tarpley (William Lee); his grandchildren, Jessica, Aiden Watson, Madeline, Jeffery Fulks and Zane Vesselee; his great grandchildren, Ambrose Sheppard and Emma Lee; and his siblings, Michael Tarpley, Carolyn Hill, Linda Pritchett and Louise Watson.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
