He was predeceased by: his parents, Dollie Mildred Owens (Risenhoover) and Alvie Owens; his daughter Sarah Elizabeth Owens of Lawton; his wife Paula Owens; his siblings, Mary Ann Roden, LeRoy Owens, Esther Rienoehl, Gladys Thornton and Kenneth Owens; and his close friends, Jimmy and Karen Tyler.

He is survived by: his son David Owens (Kimberly) of Frederick, Oklahoma; his brothers, Keith Owens of Ridgecrest, California and David Owens of Ridgecrest, California; his siblings-in-law, Joe Jack, Charlotte McPherson of Frederick and Judy Solomon of Dumas, Texas; his grandchildren, Mia, McKinley, Olivia and Liam Owens; and his close friends, WeDonna, Jessie Flores, Maha Sultan and Awuley Quaye. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
