He was predeceased by: his parents, H. A. Whitaker and Pauline Whitaker; his brother Carl Whitaker; his sister-in-law Maxine Whitaker; his wife Betty Whitaker; and his stepson Mark Allen.
He is survived by: his children, Debbie Savage (Mark) and DeWayne (Kim); his stepchildren, Jeff Allen (Joy), Barbara Hoffman (Joe), Kathy Phipps (Robbie) and Pam Allen; and his foster son David Bagby (Michelle). He is also survived by many extended family members, including 14 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren, friends.
