We are sad to announce that on February 7, 2024, at the age of 84, Ruth Smith in Glenpool, Oklahoma, born in Bartlesville, Oklahoma passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Clarence Gelwick and Grace Gelwick; her husband Gary L. Smith; and her sisters, Norma McBride and Reva Marchant.
She is survived by : her siblings, John Gelwick (Coleen) of Wichita, KS, Duane Gelwick of Dewey, OK, Jane Call and Doris Wight of Bartlesville, OK; her children, Suzan Hollis (James) of Broken Arrow, OK, LaDawn Shimp (John) of Glenpool, OK and Gary M. Smith of Broken Arrow, OK; her sister-in-law Wilma Hart of Madison, AL; and her grandchildren, Kristin Moore (Michael) of Broken Arrow, OK, Rachel Smith of Tulsa, OK, Brooklynn Shimp of Glenpool, OK, Deann Smith of Broken Arrow, OK, Shane Hollis of Broken Arrow, OK and James Shimp of Sapulpa, OK. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Ruth was a dedicated volunteer at First Baptist Church in Sapulpa until the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
