He was predeceased by: his parents, Russell Vanderpool and Florine Vanderpool (Worten); his siblings, Pat Cox, Nancy Vanderpool, Jack Vanderpool and Clint Vanderpool; and his brother-in-law Jody Gates.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Vanderpool; his children, Stephanie Vanderpool (Zak Marta), Tyffanie Hembree (Seth), Rick Rowe (Janet) and Larry Rowe; and his siblings, Donna Gates, Ruby Ward, Donald Vanderpool (Kay) and Earl "Gene" Vanderpool (Delores). He is also survived by nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Thursday, May 14th 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Nichols-Stephens Funeral Home (10201 US-59, Grove, OK 74344). A funeral service was held on Friday, May 15th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Bible Baptist Church (28050 S 630 Rd, Grove, OK 74344).
