He was predeceased by: his parents, George Shaffer and Norma Crawford (Moyer); and his siblings, Richard Shaffer and Loyce. He is survived by: his wife Judy Shaffer; his children, Kathryn Shaffer of Avant, Terry Dorsey of Eucha and Mike Shaffer (Shannon) of Verdigris; his grandchildren, Jeffrey Salyer of Kingspoint and Kristin Yazzie (Virgil) of Naschitti; and his brother Doug Crawford of Florida. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren, as well as many extended family.
Among his many accomplishments, he helped design a component for an aircraft that is now housed in the Smithsonian Museum—a lasting testament to his technical expertise and contributions to aviation.
