He is survived by: his wife Zella Ruth Prather (Goins); his siblings, Melvin Prather, Wanda Jones and Judy Middaugh; his sons, Monty Allen Prather (Virginia) and Steven Ray Prather (Kimberlie); his grandchildren, Dwight Prather, Jeremey Jackson, Jessica Prather, Cole Prather (Destiny), Ethan Prather and Marissa Prather; and his great grandchildren, Hudson, Hadley, Carston, John, Amiya, James and Irelyn. He is also survived by father to his sons, a very loved grandfather and a devoted husband who loved his wife.
